Reston, VA | July 12, 2023- As part of our efforts to give back to the communities in which we live and work in, the Brillient BEST (Brillient Engagement & Service Team) team recently made a meaningful impact at The Children’s Inn at NIH in Bethesda, Maryland. Brillient proudly and regularly supports the Inn including sponsoring three room nights in May. The Children’s Inn is a place like home for children, young adults, and their families seeking their best hope for a cure at the NIH.
Our support provided 37 children and families dealing with rare and serious illness the chance to stay at The Inn free of charge, enabled families to spend quality time together, and provided children with enriching and fun activities after long days of tests and treatments at the NIH Clinical Center.
“At The Inn, their Programming and Residents Services teams work tirelessly to ensure that the children and families have a wide range of activities that give them a chance to enjoy themselves and the people around them. These activities are designed to be inclusive so that each resident feels a sense of belonging in a safe, caring environment. Most importantly, though, they give them an opportunity to simply have fun. During Brillient’s nights, we made the following activities possible with our sponsorship:
- Glenstone Field Trip – Families got an exclusive tour of the private art museum in Potomac that houses the largest private contemporary art exhibit in the United States.
- Hole in the Wall Gang Camp – The Inn partnered with Paul Newman’s Hole in the Wall Gang Camp to bring the excitement of camp to the families of The Inn.
- Therapy Dog Visits – The Inn’s personal therapy dog, Zilly, got a well-earned rest as other therapy dogs were brought on site for families to play and cuddle with.”
Brillient is dedicated to being socially responsible and making an impact on the communities in which we live and work. The Children’s Inn covers two of the three areas we are focused on:
- Children’s health and education – our future
- Fight against disease and suffering including helping sections of society at disadvantage
“Supporting the mission of The Children’s Inn to provide a “place like home” to families while the children are undergoing their NIH treatments is so rewarding to everyone here at Brillient. In addition, the many activities provided for the families affords them the opportunity to also have some fun and make some great memories. We were so happy to hear that Zilly got a little vacation from her very important job, as well, but I am sure she missed the families very much and couldn’t wait to get back to work as quickly as possible,” said Tammy McChain, Brillient’s Chief Delivery Officer, and member of Women of the Inn.
