Reston, VA | December 12, 2019- On Tuesday, December 10th, part of Brillient BEST (Brillient Engagement and Service Team) served the “Family Dinner” to children and their families at The Children’s Inn at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) in Bethesda, Maryland. NIH is the nation’s premier biomedical research hospital, working to advance medical discoveries and improve the health of people all over the world, including children. These children often have severe medical issues and are at the NIH as a last resort. The Children’s Inn is a residential, caring place to be – where these families can relax with other families undergoing serious treatments. The families are often in treatment from as early at 4am through the end of the day. The Children’s Inn ”Family Dinner” allows the families to relax, alleviating the worries of preparing a meal after a long day at the hospital.
It was an honor for the Brillient team to serve the “Family Dinner,” and a pleasure to meet the staff and families. The staff shared some of the families favorites meals and treats and we aimed to deliver a wonderful meal and experience. We were delighted to see the excitement on the children’s faces when they saw the yummy food and fun toys.
At the end of the evening, we were handed a lovely signed “thank you” card from the families we served. Their thoughts and appreciation for our time and contribution left us feeling the impact on the families that night.
