Richard Jacik, Brillient Chief Digital Officer, Inducted as Inaugural Member of GMU Academy of Engineering and Computing Excellence

Reston, VA | March 4, 2025 – Richard Jacik, Brillient Corporation’s Chief Digital Officer, was inducted Friday evening by George Mason University/George Mason University – College of Engineering and Computing as an inaugural member of the GMU Academy of Engineering and Computing Excellence.

At Brillient, Richard leads technologists and managers in their efforts as solutions engineers. He and his team assist agencies with their Digital Transformation from a legacy environment to a digital ecosystem – enabling friction free interaction between citizens and business. 

I’m humbled to be recognized alongside the distinguished and highly accomplished members of this Academy. I’m also proud of the strong work and personal relationships I’ve formed with George Mason faculty, students, and administration,” said Richard Jacik.

Richard is an experienced technologist and award-winning business executive with more than 25 years of commercial and public sector experience selling, designing, building, delivering and managing complex IT programs and initiatives. In 2023, he was named as a 2023 Pinnacle Award Artificial Intelligence Executive of the Year finalist.

Prior to joining Brillient, Richard helped federal contractors of all sizes establish a footprint, build capabilities, deliver services & technologies, and grow to the next level. Some of his prior roles include Principal at IMI Services, Senior Vice President and Health Sector Executive at Acentia, and Vice President and Senior Account Executive at CGI.

Richard received his master’s in computer science degree and Graduate Certificate in Software Engineering from GMU. After graduation from GMU, he began managing large organizations and delivering mission-critical programs within complex technical, organizational & stakeholder landscapes.

Richard serves on non-profit boards supporting education and public health. He has been a lecturer at Marymount University where he taught classes to graduate and undergraduate students in System Design, Human Factors, Modeling and Simulation, and Software Reliability.
